Throughout France on October 20, the captivating aroma of a special delicacy is heard. The national delicacy of the country are roasted chestnuts. Chestnuts began to grow a special sort of delicacy - kugurdon. A peculiar delicacy of the French is nothing like it, and certainly the taste of delicacy is hard to forget.
Chestnuts are cooked right on the street and the smell beckons and envelops everyone who is not indifferent, and it is absolutely impossible to pass by. It’s hard to keep from enjoying a little bag filled with chestnuts. The main dishes on holidays are dishes cooked every one with chestnuts - a salad with asparagus, scallops and chestnuts, risotto with shrimps and chestnuts, chocolate chestnut mousse with orange marmalade.
On the streets there are fireplaces for nuts, and restaurateurs, competing with each other, offer new dishes from an amazingly tasty fruit. On the squares are various sports competitions, theatrical performances depicting the path of the chestnut from the Balkans to France.
